Lonnie founded Paragon Rehabilitation, Inc. in 1989 and served as President/COO of the company until July 1993 when he was appointed President/CEO. In 2002, Lonnie obtained sole ownership of Paragon and currently serves as President of the company. Early in his career he practiced as a pharmacist in TN until accepting a position as Director to the Board of Pharmacy. After obtaining a law degree and a license to practice law as an attorney in TN, Lonnie then served as legal counsel for the Tennessee Hospital Association until he accepted a position as Senior VP of Development and attorney for a corporation specializing in head injury rehabilitation. In this post, Lonnie was responsible for developing new programs, embarking on new business ventures, overseeing development and construction of new facilities, and managing legal aspects of the company.

Possessing 20+ years experience in the rehabilitation industry, Dave joined Paragon in 1999 with a wealth of management and clinical experience. Receiving his Masters in Occupational Therapy and Masters in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia, Dave’s clinical and operational experience includes clinical program development, compliance, acute rehab & outpatient operations, and over 13 years in LTC. In addition, Dave has authored articles published by AOTA, delivered presentations on the topics of RUGs & PPS, and has spoken for the AHCA on issues surrounding Medicare reimbursement and therapy service. Dave possesses a strong voice with NASL (National Association for the Support of Long Term Care), which has been instrumental in influencing cap legislation and in its work directly with CMS to create an alternative reimbursement system to the cap. Dave also leads Paragon's efforts with AOTA, APTA, and ASHA, and is a founding member of the Long Term Care Rehabilitation Consortium, a group dedicated to to helping achieve the highest quality of life for every resident of long term care.

 

Leigh Ann Thompson, MBA, CPA

Leigh Ann is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master’s in Business Administration. As a 12 year veteran of the rehabilitation industry, she possesses an expertise in Medicare reimbursement and invaluable knowledge in navigating through reimbursement issues. Prior to being named VP of Finance in 2002, Leigh Ann served as Paragon’s Controller for 8 years. During this time she directed the creation of and managed the implementation of Paragon’s state-of-the-art, as well as user-friendly, accounting and billing systems to achieve efficiency throughout the organization.

Lesley joined Paragon in the Spring of 2003 to lead new business development for the company and is highly involved in account management and census development support with each new Paragon customer. A Physical Therapist and Geriatric Clinical Specialist as recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association, Lesley has held a variety of operations, consultative and business development positions for leading regional and national long term care organizations.

 

Regional Operations Team:

Kim joined Paragon in the Summer of 2007 as Regional Director for Florida.  She received her professional training at Loma Linda University in CA. Kim has 13 years of clinical and operational management experience, including 8 years as a multi-site senior manager working with SNFs, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, and home health. She has been closely involved in program development, national training initiatives, sales and marketing, along with support group development for Parkinson’s and Amputees. Kim also developed and lead wellness programs across the state of FL which included aerobics, Tai Chi, Yoga, aquatics, and geriatric strength training. She is involved in local and national therapy organizations and has sat on the Board of Directors for the Central FL YMCA.

Patrick joined Paragon in 2000, moving from Rehab Director to Senior Rehab Director to his current position as Regional Director.  He is a 1992 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Connecticut.  As the Director of New Mexico’s largest inpatient SCI rehab program, he piloted the program’s first CARF accreditation.  He has also participated extensively in program development and marketing in wound care, wellness, Navajo-focused programming, and clinical tools development.  His interests also include bicycle racing, general fitness training, and promotion of wellness in all populations.  He also coaches small groups and individual athletes, assists in the promotion of local running races and triathlons, and provides individual weight-loss programming.

Elizabeth joined Paragon in the Spring of 2006 as Regional Director for Mississippi and Alabama. Elizabeth has 15 plus years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist in a variety of settings including skilled nursing, home health, outpatient and acute care. She has been working as a multi site operational manager for a national therapy provider in long term care settings since 1998. Over the course of her management career, Elizabeth has been presented with various awards including Most Growth, District Manager of the Year, and Best Employee Retention. Elizabeth has also been a local and regional speaker on various topics relating to therapy in geriatric settings including Balance Assessment and Training, Modality Theory and Protocols, Medically Complex Patient Care, and Therapy Management Under the PPS System.
